Renault Laguna For Sale - Used Renault Laguna
A used Renault Laguna is a good-looking alternative to its many bland family car rivals. The exterior's design flair is carried over to the interior, although it's a shame the cabin isn't better built: niggling faults aren't unheard of. The diesels are the pick of the engines, and make the Laguna a fine long-distance car.

Review
For:Excellent diesel engines, refined, stylish
Against:Not very roomy, some reliability issues
Autoquake.com verdict: star
Why buy one?
Because a used Renault Laguna is a stylish alternative to most mainstream family cars. The likes of the Ford Mondeo may be around in greater numbers, but the Laguna is worth seeking out if you're in the market for something different.
The Renault is very quiet at speed, so it makes a good motorway car, especially if you go for one of the smooth and punchy diesels. These models are cheap to run, thanks to good economy, and cheap to buy, since resale values are weak.
The latest car (08-) shows signs of improved build quality over its predecessor, although it's a little early to make a judgement on reliability.
Why think twice?
A used Laguna is not the most reliable family car. The cabin isn't especially spacious, either, particularly in the rear seats. Families with tall teenage children may be better off shopping for something more spacious.
How safe?
Renault has a strong and well deserved reputation for safety. When tested by crash test experts Euro NCAP in 2001, the Laguna was one of the first cars to score five stars out of five.
What might go wrong?
Although mechanically robust, owners report too many niggling faults inside the cabin. The car finished 88th out of 101 cars in the 2009 JD Power Customer Satisfaction Survey.
What do the experts say?
'Choose the right engine, and you'll be able to enjoy quiet, effortless motoring.' What Car?
