Autoquake.com inspected
Unless you're a mechanic, how can you be sure a used car is in good condition? When you see it has been Autoquake.com Inspected, that's how. All work is carried out by our own qualified and trained mechanics based at our sites, so you can be sure the quality is of the highest standard. We have also invested heavily into having the appropriate diagnostics equipment and training, essential for working with the electronics on today's cars.
Before your car can be listed on the Autoquake.com website it undergoes a 141 point inspection. Points covered include:
- Checks for accident damage Ill-fitting bodywork and poor paint quality will often give the game away. We perform an HPI check on every car and don't sell cars that have sustained major accident damage.
- Fluid levels A careful owner will always keep oil and washer fluids topped up. Our mechanics will check all is as it should be.
- Lights We'll see to it that they're in full working order.
- Air-conditioning and heater Stay cool - it's all been checked over.
- Seatbelts Our mechanics will ensure they're working properly.
- Tyre condition We make sure that all road tyres exceed MOT standards.
- Brake pads and discs We road test the car to check for reliability and stopping distance. We do not permit less than 3mm of wear remaining on a brake pad to ensure you can stop safely when you need to. Brake discs should always last to at least the next current service and will pass the MOT standard at handover.
- Wipers and washer If the blades need replacing soon, we'll let you know.
- Locking system and alarm We'll check the security features and report our findings.
- Audio equipment and extras Our mechanics check for niggling faults with the stereo or other electrical items.
- Autoquake.com road test Finally, further checks take place on the road, to test the steering, gearbox and clutch, engine and handbrake.
Any minor problems our mechanics pick up will be reported in the Vehicle Condition Viewer. That way peace of mind comes as standard. For more information take a look at our fair wear and tear guide.
Every car comes with service history so you can be sure that it's been looked after. Typically used company cars come with a service print as opposed to a book but these are of equal value. In addition, no car is advertised for sale with less than 3 months remaining until its next Ministry of Transport (MOT) test. We offer the car to you only with the fuel remaining from the previous owner. It is highly recommended that you fill up your car after collecting it from one of our handover centres.
We give each car a full clean, including a full valet by our own professional valeting team before the car is photographed for the website.
We also give the vehicle another clean before it is handed over to you, just to ensure you receive the vehicle in tip-top condition!
